Connect ChatGPT

Bring your saved preferences and project context into a new ChatGPT conversation.

Before you begin

Open ChatGPT in your browser. This setup uses a feature called Developer mode; you’ll turn it on in settings, with no code to write. Access depends on your account and workspace policy. Check OpenAI’s connection guide ↗

Step 1: Get your Gomind account ready

Open Gomind and sign in or create an account. If asked to create an organization, give it a name such as “My memory.” This is your workspace. Already have one? Use that.

Open Gomind (opens in a new tab)

Keep this guide open while you set up the connection in another tab.

Step 2: Add your Gomind connection

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode. Then open Plugins and select + to create a connection.

Enter the details below. Under Connection, choose the public server URL option. If asked for an authentication method, choose OAuth—this lets you sign in to Gomind.

Open ChatGPT (opens in a new tab)

Create the connection and continue to the Gomind sign-in and approval screen.

I don’t see Developer mode.

Check that you’re using the browser version and the right account or workspace. Your workspace administrator may need to enable access. If the option isn’t available, check OpenAI’s guide above or choose another app.

Step 3: Choose the memory ChatGPT will use

On the Gomind approval page, sign in if asked, then choose your organization. A collection is a space for a set of memories; choose Default for your first setup.

Review the permissions. Read facts lets ChatGPT look up memories; Write and delete facts lets it save and remove them. Enable both to follow this guide, then select Allow.

Use the same organization and collection if you later connect another AI app and want it to use these memories.

Step 4: Add Gomind to your chat

Return to ChatGPT, start a new conversation, and add your Gomind connection from the tools menu. Review any tool permissions ChatGPT asks you to approve.

Step 5: Try your first memory

Copy this message into ChatGPT:

First, save something

Use Gomind to remember that I prefer short answers with a practical example.

Check that ChatGPT actually used Gomind to save the fact, and approve the save if prompted. Then start a new chat, add Gomind again, and send:

Then, start a new chat

Look in Gomind: how do I prefer you to answer?

Look for a Gomind tool result containing your preference. This checks your Gomind connection separately from ChatGPT’s own memory.

Need a hand?

ChatGPT says it remembered, but Gomind is empty.

Ask it explicitly to save the fact using Gomind, and check the tool result. Gomind and ChatGPT’s built-in memory are separate. Make sure you added the connection to the chat and approved the save if asked.

The connection works, but saving or reading fails.

Check your Gomind credit balance and the connection’s permissions in the dashboard. Saving needs write access; looking up facts needs read access. If a memory is missing, check the selected organization and collection too.

The connection or approval expired.

Return to the Gomind connection in ChatGPT and reconnect to get a fresh approval page. Sign in to the Gomind account where you created your organization.

Want to use that memory elsewhere? Connect another AI app. You can manage access in Connections in your Gomind dashboard.
